What is RigRate.com? The purpose of RigRate.com is twofold. - RigRate.com is the only searchable, multi-manufacturer database of holsters on the net.
- RigRate.com is a place to read what other people had to say about a particular holster.
I'm looking for a holster, how will RigRate help? The best place to start is the Search page. RigRate's exclusive parametric search allows you to select search criteria for 16 different parameters. Then RigRate goes to work and selects all the holsters that meet your criteria. You can sort the results by price, rating or manufacturer.
The days of searching the net endlessly to find the perfect holster are over. What do I do with the search results? If you click on a holster, you will be taken to a page with details about that holster. This page can have up to three pictures of the holster that you can click on. You will also see how other members have rated the holster in several categories.
From this "holster detail" page, you can either go to the "View Ratings" page which will allow you to see how individual members rated the product and read what they wrote about it, or you can rate the product yourself. Why aren't [insert holster manufacturer here] products listed on your site? Probably because they have not given us permission to use their images. One of our biggest challanges is getting manufacturers to respond to our request to list them.
If the manufacturer you'd like to see is missing, please Contact Us and let us know. Also, send an email to the manufacturer asking them to be requested to be listed on our site. Let them know what you think about RigRate as well. Where did the holster's rating come from? The second purpose of RigRate is to provide a medium for end users to share their experiences with a particular product. Ratings for holsters are submitted by registered RigRate members and stored in a database. The overall rating you see is calculated by averaging all submitted ratings for that particular product. Who can rate holsters? Anyone with first hand experience with the product they are rating. But you first must register and become a RigRate member. It's free and only takes a minute. Why do I have to register in order to write a review or rate a holster? Two reasons. One is to maintain the integrity of the ratings and reviews on the site. Yes, it's an extra step for people to go through in order to contribute to the site, but we believe this extra step will help weed out useless ratings or reviews that people might otherwise submit if it were anonymous. And two, it allows us to minimize the possibility that one person will submit multiple ratings for a single product, skewing the product's overall rating. Our main concern is to have the most clear and useful information available without having to 'wade through' unrelated or useless data. We felt the registration process was necessary to facilitate this. How often can RigRate members submit ratings? Registered RigRate members can submit as many ratings as they like, provided that they have first hand experience with the product they are rating. Can I rate a product more than once? No, the system will not allow a member to rate the same product twice. This would skew the overall rating and make it useless. What's the difference between a Rating and a Review? The RigRate system allows two types of feedback. Rating Only - Rate the product on a scale of 0 to 10 in several areas

Should I submit a Rating or a Review? All members are encouraged to submit full reviews. This gives people reading the most information about your feelings about the product. But we understand not everyone is a writer or has time to write a full review, that is why we offer the "rating only" option. How is RigRate supported? Right now, it's not. The plan is to have a sponsor system in place in the near future. RigRate sponsors can be any company that distributes products that are listed on RigRate. When a user views a particular product, and a sponsor sells that product, the user will see a "Buy this product here" link which will take them to the sponsors website. I am interested in listing my company's products on RigRate. How do I do that? It's easy, just Contact Us and request to be added. It doesn't cost anything (nor will it ever). To avoid copyright issues, we just need permission to use your images and product descriptions from your website. I am interested in becoming a RigRate Sponsor There is a error with the information presented for a product. What should I do? While we strive to keep the information up to date, everyone make's mistakes. Contact us and let us know we goofed. Be sure to give details as to what product you are talking about. |
